OCC is a non-profit organization that is run by Samaritan's Purse and is growing every year. Last year almost 8 Million shoeboxes were collected in November, 2008, to be given out in over 90 countries to children affected by war, poverty, disease and natural disasters. This project touches the lives of the children and their families by showing them that someone cares enough to fill a shoe box just for them. Most of these children have never received a gift. Good Moms Club (MOTHERS)

Heavenly Treasures Handicrafts Open House (Community Event)

Heavenly Treasures, a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty through livelihood projects, is hosting an open-house. The hand-made crafts of those who live in poverty- stricken countries will be sold, and 100 percent of the proceeds will be reinvested to the artisan the craft originated from. The open-house will take place Saturday, November 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 224 W. Foothill Blvd. Glendora, CA 91741.Heavenly Treasures helps the poor through livelihood projects from 13 different countries which include: Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, and Uganda. Every craft purchased from Heavenly Treasures is accompanied with a short description of where the craft originated and how the purchase will benefit the people of that country. The open-house will feature crafts from all 13 countries, food and raffles throughout the day.

Men's Bible Study Fellowship at Cypress Church (Educational Events)

Men's BSF is held Monday evenings from Sep May - 6:55 pm to 8:45 pm. New member classes are on the first two sessions in September and then on the first Monday of each month during the rest of the program. BSF is unique in their Four-Fold Approach to learning. There are daily questions, discussion groups, challenging lectures and study notes. BSF began with the desire of a small group to deepen their faith through a weekly Bible study more than 50 years ago. It is now an international movement of people all with that same desire. Fristers is a nonprofit corporation that provides support, education and community referrals to teen moms ages 13-25. Through a unique curriculum designed to address their specific needs, teen moms are given an opportunity to learn and grow to become the best women and best moms they can be. Fristers meets weekly and provides moms with free dinner, free childcare and transportation if needed. We are looking for volunteers to join our team in Irvine, and opportunities to start up new charters in churches across the country.

Men's BSF is held Monday evenings from Sep May - 6:55 pm to 8:45 pm. New member classes are on the first two sessions in September and then on the first Monday of each month during the rest of the program. BSF is unique in their Four-Fold Approach to learning. There are daily questions, discussion groups, challenging lectures and study notes. BSF began with the desire of a small group to deepen their faith through a weekly Bible study more than 50 years ago. It is now an international movement of people all with that same desire. Cypress Church serves the communities of Buena Park, Anaheim, Cypress & many surrounding cities. The church campus is located at 6143 Ball Road just east of Valley View.
