First radio job - Overnight Announcer for a Classic Rock station. Surf 107.FM, Wilmington, NC. I was in a play called West Side Story and met the assistant program director of the radio station. She thought that I had a nice voice and encouraged me to try out for the station. After a lot of prayer and fasting, I tried out. I got the job, but I was so shy at the time that I actually used a fake radio name "Kevin Kingsly". Currently, I use my real name, "Leonardo Da Vinci".

What brought you to The Fish? – I wanted to have a cool radio name like “Big Wave Dave”. Seriously, I was an announcer in Florida and I read an excellent article about one of The Fish stations in Dallas. I was so impressed with what they were accomplishing with the music, I wanted to be a part of it.

First job ever – Class Clown. (Can’t you tell?) Actually, I was an Assistant Auto-Mechanic for my dad’s service station. I would pump gas and change the oil and tires. Speaking of tires, when I was 12 I was thrown in a pile of tires by two of my dad’s employees because I told them they cursed too much. I think that’s where I learned how to let the music do the preaching.
